We’d been meaning to go to Northumberlandia for ages. For the uninitiated, it’s a large sculpture in the earth up near Cramilngton in Northumberland. We actually passed the place at midday, but it took a further two hours to visit, due to a stop for sun cream that resulted in a punctured tyre. Well, we like to liven up a trip and Jim had never changed a tyre before, so Nicole treated him to this New Thing by kindly driving up on to a kerb at a funny angle when parking. She’s nothing if not generous.
So, after the trip to get sun cream, a wee stop, changing a tyre and visiting a café for lunch, we finally made it to Northumberlandia, two hours later. And she was beautiful. We walked up her face, we walked round her thighs. We each walked up a boob and waved to each other from the top. Barney decided half way round that he would best celebrate his brother’s birthday by crying really loudly, though it’s no coincidence that he did this when we took him away from the boob. He’s his dad’s son, that one.
After a lovely (albeit windy) walk round, we went off to get the tyre fixed and headed home. We ended the day by visiting the cemetery to think about our first boy. We also all wore robot t-shirts (our symbol for Xander) to celebrate him. The day was lovely, though eventful, and we rate it 5 out of 5 machos – if you haven’t visited it, do!
